ENUGU— The governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Enugu State, Chief Chinyeaka Ohaa, has urged party members and supporters to remain united, disciplined and focused ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ohaa made the call in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Mr Jideofor Ude, in Enugu, urging members to remain committed to the ideals and objectives of the party despite political provocations, distractions and temporary challenges.
He said the strength of the NDC depended on the unity, discipline and loyalty of its members, and urged them to place the collective interest of the party above individual ambitions and personal differences.
“We must not allow distractions, rumours, provocations or activities from opposition parties to divide our ranks or shift our attention from the task before us,” Ohaa said.
He urged members at the state, senatorial, local government and ward levels to respect the party’s leadership structures and concentrate on grassroots mobilisation, membership expansion and effective communication with the electorate.
“Not every provocation deserves a response. Our energy should be directed towards building our structures, engaging our people and presenting the NDC as a credible alternative for the people of Enugu State,” he said.
Ohaa also advised members to resolve internal disagreements through dialogue, consultation and established party mechanisms rather than public confrontation, stressing that victory in 2027 would require sacrifice, patience, discipline and collective effort.
He said every member had a role to play in building a strong grassroots structure capable of delivering the party’s vision of purposeful, accountable and people-oriented leadership in Enugu State.
