ACCRA — The Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency, Dr. Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, has supported orphans across the constituency with educational materials under a Back-to-School Initiative.
The intervention was carried out through the MP’s Islam Project in partnership with Race 4 Aid, with beneficiaries receiving school bags, exercise books, pens and other essential learning materials to prepare them for the new academic term.
The support was presented in Madina as part of efforts by the MP’s office to ease the financial burden on families caring for orphaned children and enable the beneficiaries to return to school adequately equipped.
The initiative also forms part of the MP’s broader interventions in education and social support across the constituency.
A statement from the MP’s office said the partnership with development organisations was aimed at ensuring that children, irrespective of their circumstances, had access to basic educational resources needed for learning and personal development.
It said the intervention reflected the office’s continued commitment to working with development partners to address the needs of vulnerable residents and promote inclusive access to education.
The office said providing the materials would help reduce the immediate cost burden on families while giving the children the basic supplies required for effective participation in school.
It added that sustained collaboration with development partners remained important in addressing social and educational challenges confronting vulnerable children in the constituency.
