Frontline Africa is an independent online news platform based in Enugu, South-East Nigeria. We publish news and public-interest stories from Nigeria and across Africa, with a focus on accuracy, clarity, context and accountability.
Our Editorial Mission
Our mission is to provide readers with timely and useful journalism that helps them understand the events, people, decisions and issues shaping Africa.
We cover politics, business, crime, education, health, technology, science, sports, entertainment, community affairs, interviews, opinion and special features.
Accuracy and Verification
We make reasonable efforts to verify important information before publication. Depending on the story, this may include reviewing official documents, speaking with relevant people, checking public records, consulting credible sources, and comparing information from more than one source.
- We distinguish confirmed facts from allegations, claims, estimates and opinions.
- We identify sources where doing so is appropriate and safe.
- We take care with names, dates, locations, figures, quotations and official titles.
- We seek responses from people or organisations facing serious allegations when reasonably possible.
- We do not present an allegation as a proven fact.
Sources and Press Releases
Frontline Africa may use official statements, press releases, court documents, public records, interviews, eyewitness accounts, verified social-media posts and reports from other credible media organisations.
Press releases and statements may be edited for length, clarity, grammar and house style. Publication of a press release does not necessarily mean that Frontline Africa endorses every claim made in it. Where appropriate, we identify the source of the information and seek independent confirmation.
Original Reporting and Added Value
We aim to add editorial value to the stories we publish through reporting, verification, context, explanation, interviews, analysis or local relevance. When we refer to information first reported elsewhere, we aim to identify the original source and avoid presenting another organisation’s work as our own.
Fairness and Right of Reply
We strive to report fairly and to give relevant parties a reasonable opportunity to respond to significant allegations or criticism. A person’s or organisation’s response may be included in the original story or added through an update when it becomes available.
We do not guarantee that every party will respond before publication, particularly where there is a public-interest need for timely reporting. In such cases, we may publish a clear statement that a response was sought or had not been received by the time of publication.
Opinion, Analysis and Features
Opinion and analysis express the views of the writer or contributor and should not be confused with straight news reporting. We aim to identify opinion, commentary, interviews, features and analysis clearly.
Opinions expressed by contributors do not necessarily represent the views of Frontline Africa.
Crime, Courts and Allegations
People accused of wrongdoing are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of law. We use careful language when reporting arrests, investigations, charges and court proceedings.
We avoid unnecessary details that could identify victims, children or vulnerable people. We also take care not to publish information that could improperly interfere with an investigation or legal proceeding.
Privacy and Sensitive Information
We balance the public interest in publishing information with the privacy and safety of individuals. We do not publish private personal information simply because it is available, and we take additional care with children, victims of violence, medical information and people in vulnerable circumstances.
Requests relating to personal data can be made through our Privacy Policy contact details.
Images, Video and Copyright
We aim to use photographs, video, graphics and other media lawfully and responsibly. We seek to credit photographers, agencies, organisations and other copyright holders where appropriate.
We do not knowingly publish copyrighted material without permission, a lawful basis or appropriate licence. If you believe that an image or other material has been used improperly, please contact us with the relevant article link and proof of ownership.
Corrections and Updates
We correct factual errors when they are identified and verified. Corrections may involve changing the article, adding an editor’s note, or publishing a clarification, depending on the nature and seriousness of the error.
Readers who spot a possible error should send:
- The link to the article;
- A description of the suspected error;
- The correct information; and
- Supporting documents or links, where available.

Advertising, Sponsorship and Commercial Content
Advertising and commercial partnerships must be distinguishable from independent editorial content. Sponsored content, paid promotions, advertisements and other commercial material should be labelled appropriately.
Commercial relationships should not determine the outcome of independent news coverage. Advertisers and partners do not receive a guarantee of favourable editorial treatment.
Conflicts of Interest
Contributors and editorial staff should disclose relevant personal, professional or financial interests that could affect the perception of their work. Where a conflict cannot be managed appropriately, the contributor may be removed from the assignment.
User Comments and Contributions
Readers may submit comments, story tips, press releases and other contributions. We may moderate, edit, reject or remove material that is defamatory, abusive, discriminatory, unlawful, misleading, threatening, excessively promotional or unrelated to the discussion.
Publication of a reader contribution does not mean that Frontline Africa agrees with it. Contributors are responsible for the accuracy and legality of material they submit.
Use of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools
Digital tools may be used for administrative, research, transcription, translation, formatting or other production assistance. Human editorial review remains responsible for the accuracy, fairness, context and final publication of our content.
We do not knowingly publish fabricated quotations, invented sources or unverified AI-generated claims as fact.
Complaints and Editorial Enquiries
We welcome credible feedback about our journalism. Please contact us with the article link, the issue you are raising, and any supporting evidence.
