6th Frontier Discourse Lecture: Sani, Nwoye, Ikechukwu, Fasua Named Panelists

Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani; Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Ben Nwoye; Executive Director of Development Specs Academy, Prof. Okey Ikechukwu, mni; and Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs, Dr. Tope Fasua, have been named panelists for the sixth edition of the Frontier Discourse Annual Public Lecture Series and Awards in Abuja.

The event, organised by Pacesetter Frontier Magazine, will examine the theme, “Barrel to Ballot: The Naturalisation of Violence, Nigeria’s Polity and its Democratic Circus,” with discussions expected to focus on insecurity, democratic governance and the challenges confronting Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.

A member of the organising committee, Frank Ufondu, said the panel was carefully constituted to provide diverse perspectives on the issues facing the country.

“Our choices of discussants were carefully curated. We want to have a healthy mix of different contributions during the session so that delegates can leave the event with a wholesome perspective of the issues confronting us as a nation ahead of the 2027 general elections”.

According to the organisers, the lecture is part of an annual initiative established in 2021 to promote dialogue between African leaders and citizens, encourage policy reviews and facilitate the exchange of ideas on development, while recognising individuals who have contributed to Africa’s growth.

Pacesetter Frontier Magazine, a privately owned print and digital publication established in 2020, organises the annual colloquium as a platform for constructive engagement on national and continental issues.

The event is expected to attract captains of industry, religious leaders, traditional rulers, politicians, youth organisations, civil society groups, professional bodies, representatives of the formal sector, students and award recipients.

Beyond the panel discussions, the programme will feature history sessions, comedy, poetry and exhibitions.

The lecture and awards ceremony will take place at the Nigerian National Merit Award House, also known as Merit House, in Maitama, Abuja.

The red carpet will begin at 10 a.m., while the main event is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
