ENUGU — The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the death of its Enugu State Sector Commander, Franklin Agbakoba.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Enugu by the Deputy Corps Commander in charge of Operations, Enugu State Sector Command, Kyrian Okolo.
According to the statement, Agbakoba passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at the Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu, where he was undergoing treatment for an undisclosed illness.
“FRSC Enugu State Sector Command received the sad news of the demise of CC Franklin Agbakoba on Thursday, July 30, 2026. The late Sector Commander died at Niger Foundation Hospital, Enugu, where he was receiving treatment.

Until his passing, Agbakoba was widely recognized across the state for championing inter-agency collaboration, institutional partnerships, and aggressive road safety campaigns aimed at reducing traffic casualties and ensuring safer highways throughout Enugu State.
