Independence: Egbo Hails Mbah, Calls For Sustained Enugu Development

Dr. John Egbo, Deputy Sheriff (Rtd.), has congratulated the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, and the people of the state on Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, describing the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on the country’s progress and future.

In a goodwill message marking the anniversary, Egbo described Mbah as a “truly detribalised Nigerian leader,” saying his administration’s development philosophy of “Disruptive Innovation” and “Tomorrow Is Here” had translated into initiatives across key sectors.

He cited security, infrastructure, education, transportation, healthcare, investment and industrial development as areas where he said the state government had embarked on far-reaching initiatives aimed at strengthening the state’s economy and improving opportunities for its people.

According to him, the administration’s drive to attract major industrial investments and strengthen Enugu’s energy and industrial capacity also demonstrates its focus on sustainable economic growth and employment.

Egbo said: “The transformation taking place across critical sectors including security, infrastructure, education, transportation, healthcare, investment and industrial development represents an ambitious effort to build a stronger and more economically vibrant Enugu State.”

He urged citizens to support initiatives that promote peace, development, investment, security and opportunities, stressing that sustaining development required collective responsibility.

“The responsibility of sustaining and building upon the transformation already underway belongs to all of us. We must work together to ensure that the vision of a modern, prosperous and secure Enugu State continues to inspire future generations,” he said.

Egbo also called for a national renewal anchored on unity, peace and prosperity, while urging citizens to embrace innovation, enterprise, service and what he described as transformational leadership.

“As Nigeria celebrates another year of independence, may our nation continue to grow in unity, peace and prosperity. Indeed, in Enugu State, our TOMORROW IS HERE,” he said.

He wished President Bola Tinubu, Governor Mbah and Nigerians a happy 66th Independence Anniversary.
