Enugu CP Leads Security Chiefs to Honour Late FRSC Commander

The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Giwa, on Thursday led heads of sister security and law enforcement agencies in the state to pay tribute to the late Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Corps Commander Franklin Onyekwelu Agbakoba.

Giwa led members of the Forum of Interagency Security Heads in Enugu State (FISHES) to the lying-in-state of Agbakoba at the FRSC Sector Command Headquarters, GRA, Enugu.

Speaking on behalf of the forum, Giwa described the deceased as a dependable partner, committed professional and valuable member of the interagency security community whose contributions to collective security and road safety in the state were impactful and highly appreciated.

The commissioner said Agbakoba was a regular and active participant at FISHES meetings, where he made valuable contributions to security deliberations and brought his professional experience and practical perspectives to addressing security and traffic-related challenges in the state.

“He was a dependable partner, committed professional and valuable member of the interagency security community,” Giwa said.

The police commissioner also recalled the late sector commander’s warmth, camaraderie and characteristic humour, which he said often added a refreshing touch to meetings and social gatherings organised to celebrate or bid farewell to members of the forum.

Giwa, on behalf of the security heads, commiserated with the deceased’s family, officers and men of the FRSC, colleagues and associates, praying that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the loss and grant the departed eternal repose.

The tribute formed part of activities marking Agbakoba’s lying-in-state, with representatives of sister security and law enforcement agencies joining the FRSC family to honour his memory and recognise his service to Enugu State and Nigeria.
